Oeoe is a whistle, siren, or also a bull-roarer. Oe is the sound that is made by the instrument when swung. The oeoe is made out of kamani seed, coconut shell, or small gourds on a long string. Our oeoe are made with la'amia.
This Hawaiian instrument was used by Ancient Hawaiians in Makahiki ceremonies to let everyone know that it was the time of Lono (the time of peace).
