These practice batons are typically the first thing a fire knife dancer uses when they first learn how to spin. The cushioned end make it easier to try out new and more difficult spins compared to practicing with the actual blade. It is made up of a dowel (same dowel used for actual knives, so weight distribution is the same) and cushion wrapped in tape. These products are made by The Siva Afi Company. Be advised tape color changes, each are hand made and vary on stock availability.
