Our Lei Hua Weleweka is a handmade 4 strand Hawaiian velvet seed lei crafted from beautiful Mgambo seeds, also known as Hua Weleweka. Each lei is finished with 2 kukui nuts at the ends and an adjustable tie for a comfortable fit.

Hua Weleweka, or “velvet seed,” refers to rare handcrafted Hawaiian jewelry and lei made from the seeds of the Mgambo tree, a member of the Soapberry family. These soft gray fuzzy seeds are hand-harvested and are well-loved throughout Hawaiʻi for their unique texture and traditional use in Hula competitions, Pāʻū riding, and Aloha Festivals parades. Often referred to as “forever velvet,” these seeds are treasured for both their beauty and cultural significance.
