Lafo Anklets XL are a traditional accessory worn for Tongan Mako and Kailao (war dances). Featuring larger lafo pieces than our standard version, these anklets create a deeper, fuller rattling sound that enhances the rhythm and energy of each performance. In Samoa, a similar accessory is known as Kifa and is used in much the same way. For a versatile styling option, the Lafo Anklets XL can also be worn around the waist and styled as a Tongan kiekie (ornamental waist belt), as pictured. The layered lafo seeds create a bold, textured look that pairs beautifully with traditional and contemporary Tongan attire. This model is wearing both pieces (a pair) overlapping each other to create a full look. Each side measures approximately 4 feet long and features approximately 10 inches of adjustable ties for a secure and comfortable fit. The hanging lafo seeds have approximately 3 inches of spacing between each other and hang approximately 5 inches down, creating a full, eye-catching look with rich, rhythmic sound when in movement.
